“Street Photography” refers to living photographs focusing on everyday existence. The Genoa of Aldo Ponassi is a city only partially revealed. The images tell much, but not all. They leave time and space to personal contemplation, and the new “decaphoto” poems of Edoardo Sanguineti are a subjective interpretation of this.
G. Aldo PONASSI was born in Genoa in 1933. He was university professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Genoa, and also held the office of Regional Councilman for two legislatures (1975-1985) for the Region of Liguria. Photographer since 1988, he lives in Genoa dedicating himself exclusively to humanistic photography.
Edoardo SANGUINETI taught Italian Literature at the Universities of Turin, Salerno and Genoa until 2000. He has held the office of City Councilman in Genoa (1976) and Member of Parliament (1979-1983). Author of essays and poetry translated into various languages, he has been awarded numerous literary prizes, among which include The 2003 Campiello in honour of his career. His collected poetry is now avaiable in the books Volumi Segnalibro (1982) and Il Gatto Lupesco (2002) published by Feltrinelli. |
