for the China launch of his new book, The Dragon Throne -
Dynasties of Imperial China from the Qin to the Manchu.
Fenby, former editor of the South China Morning Post
and Reuters World Service, skillfully weaves the story
of imperial China, beginning with the ascent of China's
first emperor, Shi Huangdi, in 221 BC,
and leading right up to China's turbulent revolution
in the early 20th century.
Also as part of the launch will be a discussion
of a recently-published book of photographs entitled
China - The Longest Journey 1850-1949,
for which Fenby has written the accompanying text.
